also, I like the idea about the message for the visitor, however tawk.to doesn't have that, it just does it automatically. so really since it's already being done, it wouldn't require any kind of notification for the visitor. but of course a nice message stating something like "We will like to let you know that we will be able to assist you faster as you type." or something along those lines .

Yeah, the message for the visitor is mostly just to let them know that the support agent they're talking to can see what they're typing. This is to stay completely transparent to the visitor. We find it's important to let the visitor know in any case. 😀

Thanks for replying. The purpose is that as they are writing it, you can get an idea of what they are going to say so you can begin following along rather than wondering if they have left the screen up and are still active or not. It would allow you to see their train of thoughts and then once posted you can reply quickly so they know you were real or that you're quick at reading, then can begin a reply or use a shortcut/quick message to send the information if it is something that has been brought up before.

i.e What is your process for migrating? (text preview of what they were writing) you can then do is once it's sent is write back or use a shortcut/quick message to reply back.

Yes of course, I understand how it will be useful to you and our other users, definitely, that's why we've decided to do it 🙂

I was just stating our personal opinion on it, for transparency, that's all 🚀

We'll let you all know when it's implemented! 😁👍

Hi there! 🚀 We're planning on doing on a medium term. ETA 6-9 months.

How would the feature work?

It would be deactivated by default. If you need it, you'll be able to activate it. A message would be shown to the visitor to let them know you'd be able to see what they're typing, and/or asking them for permission to do this.

We, personally, don't find this to be the greatest feature, we don't really agree with being able to see what a visitor is writing before they send it, in all transparency, but as we've had quite a few requests, we've decided to put it in place. 🙂

As the feature will be deactivated by default, it will be under your responsibility if you decide to activate it. 👍
